Hot Springs
A miraculous hot spring steeped in legend and tradition
『The origin of Kakeyu"
Once upon a time-
In the village of Maruko, there lived a hunter who was a devout believer.
A hunter was out hunting in the mountains when he spotted a deer and immediately shot an arrow at it.
The deer that should have been hit ran off deeper into the mountains with the arrow still lodged in its back.
No matter how hard I looked, I couldn't find the deer and was about to give up.
I saw a deer with an arrow stuck in its back bathing comfortably in the water,
As the hunter approached, the deer, which was supposed to be injured, ran away cheerfully.
Curious, I went closer to the puddle and saw that it was hot water gushing forth.
After a while, Manjusri Bodhisattva appeared before the hunter.
"In response to your devout faith, I will transform myself into a deer and show you where the hot springs are.
Please continue to be devout in your faith and spread the word about these hot springs to the world."
He said,
The villagers who heard the story from the hunter came to call the hot spring the deer taught them about, "Kakeyu"
It is said that if people got sick or injured, they would soak in this hot spring to recover.
Kakeyu Onsen has flourished as a hot spring therapeutic facility since the Edo period and continues to do so to this day.
It is a national hot spring resort designated by the Ministry of the Environment, and we are confident in the efficacy of the hot springs.
Please enjoy this hot spring.
